Albert Schweitzer Grimmialp-Days | 17.-19.6.2022

Climate change and PERMA - contradiction or symbiosis?

Short facts

  • Schwenden im Diemtigtal
  • For individual guests

Seek recreation and tranquillity where Albert Schweitzer, «Jungle doctor» and Nobel Peace Prize winner, already spent his summer holidays from 1901 to 1909 (without 1907) and found inspiration.

Permafrost, permaculture, the PERMA model are terms we still encounter in everyday life. While permafrost and permaculture are mainly about areas related to climate change and agriculture, the PERMA model includes questions around a fulfilled and sustainable life.

The 8th Albert Schweitzer Grimmialp-Days are intended to offer us the opportunity to seek and find sustainable answers to climate questions as well as to interpersonal behaviour in everyday life, far away from the «second society» and overstrained flood of information.

Prof. Heinz Wanner, founding president and researcher at the Oeschger Centre for Climate Research at the University of Bern. Winner of the «Prix Vautrin Lud» - the unofficial Nobel Prize for Geography, and Urs Meier, master baker, vocational school teacher and humour and laughter trainer, will introduce us to the topic with their presentations on Friday evening and Saturday morning.

* PERMA - What does it mean?
P - like Positive Emotions
E - for Engagement
R - like Relationsship (positive relationships)
M - Meaning (sense, meaningfulness)
A - like Achievement / Accomplishment (achievement, goal attainment)

Look forward to an exciting and varied programme from Friday, 17 to Sunday, 19 June 2022:

PERMA is an acronym from agriculture as well as from positive psychology and is fully in vogue. - People in the midst of people - who live, have the basic need to be free and connected. Joy in life and a large portion of humour contribute to reacting more calmly in a given situation. Or: He who laughs last laughs best.
