The history and culture trail shows you selected excerpts from the life forms and eras of the Diemtigtal, back to the Middle Stone Age (information panels in German only).

At eight posts you can read interesting facts about the following topics (descriptions in German only):

  • Alpine farming
  • Cattle, horse and goat breeding
  • Trade and industry
  • Art and culture
  • Timber construction
  • Tourism
  • Important buildings
  • Life forms

You will learn how, around 10,000 years ago, prehistoric people in search of food penetrated the still glaciated Diemtigtal and found shelter under the Eyeriedschopf in Zwischenflüh. Excavations of stone and bone implements attest to the human presence in the Diemtigtal in the Middle Stone Age – an important hook for the Diemtigtal History and Culture Trail.

There is a large covered barbecue area at the starting point. Reserve it as a group at the Diemtigtal Nature Park office.
