An easy path takes you from Senggiweid to the untouched Blauseeli and further around the village of Schwenden. Enjoy the beautiful view of the mountain village in the back Diemtigtal.

After just a few meters on the easy circular path, you reach the idyllic Blauseeli. Whether deeply snow-covered or with only a little snow, the lake impresses with its deep blue color and is a popular photo spot. Later on the Seehorenweid, a beautiful view opens up over the mountain village Schwenden, and you can already see your next goal: the romantic chapel near the former Grandhotel Kurhaus Grimmialp.

If there is enough snow, you can extend the path as desired:
From Seehorenweid, continue hiking down the valley via Oberematte, Seeboden to the livestock exhibition area Anger (3.5 km).

Directions

The circular hike starts at the Senggiweid parking lot and initially leads to the idyllic Blauseeli. Follow the prepared path further via Senggi to Seehoreweid. After a short descent, you reach the village of Schwenden and walk for a short time (250 m) along the main road to the trail that leads you to the romantic Schwenden chapel and further to the Hotel Kurhaus Grimmialp. For the last kilometer, it goes back on flat terrain to the starting point. The path is marked with pink directional signs.

The winter hike can be extended as desired:
from Senggiweid to Würzi (1.5 km)
from Seehoreweid via Oberematte, Seeboden to Anger (3.5 km)

The short circular route is also well suited for spontaneous walks.

Sturdy footwear with non-slip soles, clothing appropriate for the weather

Safety guidelines

The winter hiking trail partially follows the cross-country ski trail. For good coexistence, please do not enter the cross-country ski trail.
Be prepared for possible icy spots along the circular hike.

Directions & Parking facilities

Motorway A6 Bern towards Zweisimmen, 1 km after the Simmenflu tunnel turn left towards Diemtigtal. Follow the Diemtigtal road into the valley for 19 km towards Schwenden, Grimmialp.

Paid parking is available directly at the starting point, parking permit machine on site

By train to Oey-Diemtigen. Then by post bus to the stop “Schwenden i.D., Grimmialp” (final stop). From here, a short walk (approx. 5 min.) to Senggiweid
