Families love the Diemtigtal. Because of its three ski areas with a total of 27 km of groomed, varied pistes that make the hearts of young and old winter sports fans beat faster. Because of the three Swiss Snow Kids Villages run by the Swiss Ski School and the easier ski lifts for inexperienced skiers and the challenging pistes such as the Stiereberg on the Grimmialp. And also because here in the Diemtigtal at the Wiriehorn, the Grimmialp and the Springenboden there is plenty of winter to experience close to the city!

Oey at the beginning of the valley is the starting point for your winter excursions in the Diemtigtal Nature Park. The postbus runs from Oey-Diemtigen railway station to the valley stations of the Wiriehorn and Grimmialp mountain railways.

The winter sports area at Wiriehorn attracts visitors with countless snow activities. Whether on skis or snowboard, advanced or with no previous experience: there's something for you too. 17.5 km of pistes from blue to black are waiting to be discovered by you. Grimmialp lies at the very back of the valley and is yet so close. The clearly laid out and sunny ski area is perfect for families. Little ones can practise on the button lift in the valley, while more advanced skiers and snowboarders can venture onto the higher slopes. Look forward to an easy and authentic snow sports experience at the Grimmialp.

Springenboden, the smallest of our ski areas, is located on the sun terrace of Diemtigtal, high above the valley floor. It is completely geared towards the needs of families and is the ideal place for children to learn to ski.

Generations of children from the region have learnt to ski at the ski school in Diemtigtal. The team at the Swiss Ski School Diemtigtal ensures that this will continue to be the case in the future. Courses are offered in all three ski areas (Wiriehorn, Grimmialp and Springenboden) at various levels of difficulty for skiers and snowboarders.
