How about a warming coffee or tea at the Berghotel Wiriehorn before starting the hike? The 6-seater chairlift of the Wiriehorn cable car comfortably takes you to the mountain station at Nüegg. During the descent, enjoy the view of surrounding mountain peaks and over the Diemtigtal. Further down you reach Entschwil and thus the impressive high plateau with its magnificent houses in traditional Simmental architectural style, before the return path to the valley station leads you through snowy forests and hamlets.

Directions
Follow the winter hiking trail from the mountain station to Röschteschwend. It's worth taking a moment here to pause and enjoy the impressive panorama. The descent continues to Entschwil, from where you partly hike along the asphalt road to the valley station of the Wiriehorn cable car. The path is marked with pink direction indicators.

From the mountain station at Nüegg, a short detour up to the Schwarzenberg mountain restaurant is worth it (15 min.)

Directions & Parking facilities
Motorway A6 Bern towards Zweisimmen, turn left 1 km after the Simmenfluhtunnel in the direction of Diemtigtal. Follow the Diemtigtal road upstream for 11 km to the valley station Wiriehorn. From here the chairlift of the Wiriehorn cable cars takes you up to the mountain station Nüegg (observe operating times: www.wiriehorn.ch).
At the valley station Wiriehorn you will find paid parking spaces
Take the train to Oey-Diemtigen station (Spiez–Zweisimmen line). Then continue by post bus to the stop "Riedli, valley station Wiriehorn." From here the chairlift of the Wiriehorn cable cars takes you up to the mountain station Nüegg (observe operating times: www.wiriehorn.ch).
