On a varied hike from Riedli up to the Chilchflue and further to Alp Tschuggen, you breathe in fresh alpine air. The path mostly leads through shady mountain forests before you reach the impressive high plateau. Once at the top, you pass several alpine farms and will notice that a large number of cows and cattle find their home here during the summer months. Book the > Tschuggen alpine cheese hike in combination with your hike, where the Wiedmer family offers various types of alpine cheese and delicious alpine cheese for tasting.
With a view into the Simmental and the moor area of the Aegelsee, the path now goes down to Diemtigbergli and into the village of Diemtigen. It’s worth looking at the houses: the village image is shaped by buildings from the second half of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century, so pay attention to the magnificent houses and the Romanesque church in the middle of the village.

Attractive circular hike:
If you want to extend the alpine hike to a suitable circular route and avoid the post bus, you can first walk from Oey-Diemtigen train station along the valley hiking trail to the Wiriehorn valley station (Zwischenflüh). The descent from the village of Diemtigen to Oey-Diemtigen train station is also manageable on foot in about 30 minutes. The extended circular hike takes about 5.5 hours.

Shop directly on the alp or at one of the product refrigerators: Take home a "chüschten" cheese from the Diemtigtal.

Directions & Parking facilities
On the A6 motorway Bern direction Zweisimmen, turn left towards Diemtigtal 1 km after the Simmenfluhtunnel. Follow the Diemtigtal road upstream for 4 km to the village of Oey. The marketplace is located 500 meters after the village entrance, shortly after Hotel Hirschen. Start your individual circular hike from here or take the post bus to the official starting point, the stop "Riedli, Wiriehorn valley station."
Free parking is available at the marketplace (200 meters after the railway crossing on the right side). Alternatively, there are paid parking spaces at Oey-Diemtigen station.
By train to Oey-Diemtigen station (Spiez–Zweisimmen line), then by post bus to the stop "Riedli, Wiriehorn valley station"
